What is a good overall household oil or lubricant for fixing?

Oiling hinges, windows, keyholes, doors, etc.? WD-40?

What's your choice? What is a good overall household oil or lubricant for fixing?
3 in 1 oil is about the best for overall lubrication.Other things that work well are spray silicone and powered graphite, need to be careful with the graphite,it can be a bit messy but works the best on wood applications. What is a good overall household oil or lubricant for fixing?
WD-40 or Powder graphite as long as they are not rusted.
WD-40, 3 in one oil, Vaseline and cotton swab
You got it WD-40 is designed just for what you describe.

(Oh, just in case if you want to know WD-40 stands for Waterproof Development number 40).
WD40 is a good choice for all these choices except the keyholes. You'll hate yourself a few years from now when the buildup of WD starts staining your clothes and hands from handling your keys and doorknobs. Use graphite, the powder will not attract dirt and the powder will be ground into nothing inside the locks.
Right ! ';OIL'; to attract ton's of dust ! WD-40 is ';OIL %26amp; Silicone';, and it will stain too. Use ';Pure silicone spray'; (Hrdw. str.), it leaves no oily residue to attract dust/dirt, it dries clean (so it can be used to remove adhesives and stains on fabrics), It is more slippery than WD-40, and leaves a waterproof/ stain resistant barrier.
WD40 is a very good choice, I also have a bottle of 3in1 oil for heavier lubrication needs.
3-n-1 oil. nothing better. WD40 is for freeing rusted parts...and keeping water out. to use 3-n-1 oil on a keyhole...put the oil on the key...work the key in and out of the lock. You can use Lithium grease.
WD-40 is good another good one is called blaster
k-y jelly works great or silicone moist personnel lubricant
