What type of oil/lubricant should be used for the transfer case on a Chevy Tahoe?

Just changed out the transfer case on my 1999 Chevy Tahoe and I need to know what type of oil or lubricant it should be filled with? Thanks! What type of oil/lubricant should be used for the transfer case on a Chevy Tahoe?
I would use the OEM oil or lubricant that Chevy uses. The Parts Department in a Chevy Dealership should be able to tell you what they use and supply the item! Hope this helps. What type of oil/lubricant should be used for the transfer case on a Chevy Tahoe?
I believe it's trans fluid. What does the owners manual say? Call the dealer if you don't have a owners manual. What's in the transfer case you just put in? There's got to be some residue if it's used. Pull the drain plug and stick your finger or a cotton swab in there to see what it looks and smells like.
Automatic transmission fluid
