Density of lubricant oil -Vs- water?

Depends on the oil :





As a broad indicator :





Light oil (100SUS / 20 cSt @ 40C) about 0.820kg/lt


Medium Oil (500SUS / 300 cSt @ 40C) about 0.850kg/lt


Heavy Oil (BRIGHTSTOCK / 1000 cSt @ 40C) about 0.900kg/lt





Water around 1kg/ltDensity of lubricant oil -Vs- water?
oil-floats on water.Density of lubricant oil -Vs- water?

density of lubricant oil= 0.8 * density of water
water is about 8 pounds per gallon...oil about 6 pounds per gallon.
